As Black Friday approaches, it’s that time of year again when shoppers brace themselves for incredible deals and discounts. But what about service-based businesses, like coaches, accountants, and consultants? How can we, as female entrepreneurs, make the most of this promotional frenzy while staying true to our brand and values?
What is Black Friday?
Originating as a post-Thanksgiving sales event in the United States, Black Friday has become a global phenomenon. It marks the unofficial start of the holiday shopping season, where businesses offer significant discounts and promotions to attract shoppers and getting them spending as much money as possible pre-Christmas.
Why do marketers like to jump on this?
For many businesses, Black Friday presents an opportunity to boost sales, attract new customers and reward loyal ones. It’s a chance to create buzz, engage with your audience and join all of the other brands and businesses that are promoting offers during this period.
As this has become so popular in recent years, it does mean the marketplace can be saturated, but it does make for a great opportunity to get some sales, win new customers or get old ones back.
Let’s dive into some thoughtful Black Friday marketing ideas tailored for our service-oriented enterprises.
1. Discount Your Services
Let’s kick it off with a classic! Offer a limited-time discount on your services to both reward your loyal clients and entice those on the fence. It’s a win-win! This could be a percentage off or a special rate for new clients. Remember, to make this a limited-time discount on your services or packages and make it clear when this offer ends.
2. Offer Bundles
If blanket discounts aren’t your bag, you could create value-packed bundles by combining different services or products you offer. Bundling allows you to provide more value rather than bigger discounts…and showcases more of your expertise. Provide a small discount on the overall bundle price so your clients feel like they are getting lots of value for the price.
3. Launch a New Freebie
Who doesn’t love freebies? Release a new downloadable resource, eBook, or mini-course relevant to your audience. This is a great opportunity to demonstrate your expertise and, let’s be honest, generosity. Get lots of freebie ideas in my free download here.
4. Knowledge-Sharing Webinars
If you don’t want to give money off of have time to create a new freebie, you could host an Instagram live, a webinar or workshop to share valuable insights or tips related to your industry. This is fab for positioning yourself as an authority while engaging with your audience in real-time.
5. Social Media Giveaway
Do you have any paid for downloads or parts of your service that you could perhaps giveaway? Running a Black Friday-themed giveaway on your social media platforms would be an awesome way to grow your audience and to reward to your followers. Encourage participation by asking followers to share stories or engage in a fun challenge related to your services.
6. Do Absolutely Nothing
Yep, you read that right. In a season inundated with sales pitches and discount codes, sometimes the best approach is to simply take a step back and do nothing. As a coach or consultant, your value lies in your expertise and the transformative experiences you offer. Instead of adding to the noise, use this time to authentically connect with your audience. Share stories, express gratitude, or simply take a step back and let your genuine presence shine through.
Remember, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to Black Friday marketing. Choose strategies that align with your brand values and resonate with your audience.
